I’ve presented the faux House Bill above in an attempt to illustrate a point—absurdity often foretells certainty. Never again? Can’t happen here? Make no mistake, it is happening here, it is happening now, and the targets are not Jews, but Conservatives.

The Crisis is in the Details

Rahm Emanuel, Obama’s former White House Chief of Staff, once declared, “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. And what I mean by that is an opportunity to do things that you think you could not do before.”

To that end, compare and contrast events following the US Capitol breech with those following Germany’s Reichstag fire of 1933.On the day following the fire, the Reichstag Fire Decree was adopted, “For the Protection of the People and State” from Communism. The Decree abolished a number of constitutional protections and paved the way for Nazi totalitarianism.

These edicts included the suspension of the right to assembly, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, and other constitutional protections, including all restraints on police investigations.

The Decree, as written, begins with the following: “Articles 114, 115, 117, 118, 123, 124, and 153 of the Constitution of the German Reich are suspended until further notice. Thus, restrictions on personal liberty, on the right of free expression of opinion, including freedom of the press, on the right of assembly and the right of association, and violations of the privacy of postal, telegraphic, and telephonic communications, and warrants for house searches, orders for confiscations as well as restrictions on property are permissible beyond the legal limits otherwise prescribed.”

Similarly, following the US Capitol breech of Jan 6, a bipartisan group in Congress introduced the “Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act Of 2021.” It seeks to expand the surveillance and police powers of the national security state in the name of combatting dangerous extremism.

In a “Fox News” interview with Tucker Carson, former Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard said of the Act, “We don’t have to guess about where this goes or where it ends. When you have people like former CIA Director John Brennan openly talking about how he’s spoken with appointees and nominees in the Biden administration who are already starting to look across our country for these types of movements… that in his words make up this ‘unholy alliance’ of ‘religious extremists,’ ‘racists,’ ‘bigots’ … even ‘libertarians.’”

The implication of Brennan’s associating libertarians with religious extremists, racists and bigots should not be overlooked here. For in doing so, Brennan is implying that libertarians, and by extension Conservatives, are of the same dangerous mindset as the forementioned groups. The want and pursuit of liberty is dangerous only to those who seek to destroy it.

Gabbard even Tweeted at Biden, “Your leadership is needed now to denounce those like John Brennan & Rep Schiff who are advocating for targeting half the country as potential domestic terrorists. Truly unite the American people around our Constitution & the rights that are endowed to us by our Creator.”

But even a casual perusal of today’s headlines or examination of social media will lead one to understand that the targeting of Conservatives by Democrats and others is likely to continue unabated.Former CIA officer and Lincoln Project affiliate Kevin Carroll advocated in the “Washington Examiner” bringing “the heaviest felony charges possible on as many participants” in the Jan. 6 protests; using internet chatrooms to entrap American citizens; and compelling fire and police departments to require loyalty oaths of their employees. “We ruthlessly hunted down foreign terrorists after the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks,” argues Carroll, “and must do the same to their domestic equivalents.”

If only Carroll had exhibited the same zeal in bringing justice to at least one alleged pedophile within the Lincoln Project.

In speaking of Trump administration officials, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez asked on Twitter, “Is anyone archiving these Trump sycophants for when they try to downplay or deny their complicity in the future? I foresee decent probability of many deleted Tweets, writings, photos in the future.”

Jennifer Rubin, a writer for the Washington Post, Tweeted, “Any R now promoting rejection of an election or calling to not to follow the will of voters or making baseless allegations of fraud should never serve in office, join a corporate board, find a faculty position or be accepted into “polite” society. We have a list.”

Nazis had lists, as well. And in case you didn’t know it, the word Nazi actually stands for National Socialist German Workers’ Party [emphasis added]. So, the next time a “Democratic Socialist” calls you or Trump a Nazi, you might want to point out to her that Nazis were actually Socialists.

It should also be noted that anyone calling themselves a Democratic Socialist is like saying you’re a Jewish Catholic. You are either a Democrat or you are a Socialist. At least if we’re talking about the classic, John F Kennedy type of Democrat, anyway. Lately, the lines have become blurred.

In any event, many Socialists simply append the word Democratic to Socialist in an attempt to dilute the meaning and soften the term “Socialist.” It has the effect of making the moniker more palatable to society at large. But we understand how the left has an uncanny ability to play with words and meaning. Always consider the actions of individuals, not their language–especially when dealing with politicians.

The Struggle for Unity

Despite “winning” the 2020 election, Democrats and their ilk are still demanding a pound of flesh from Trump supporters. In addition to impeaching Trump, The Dems insist that election-deniers endure struggle sessions, during which, as Mitt Romney suggests, deplorables must “…[go] out publicly and [say] that there was not widespread voter fraud and that Joe Biden is the legitimate president of the United States.”

But what Romney and others have proposed is not an act of unity, but rather a shameless performance of appeasement and capitulation. Do not do it. Many have yet to learn that when you bend a knee to the left, you simply make it that much easier for them to chop off your head.

Democrats have even appropriated Adolf Hitler’s terminology in declaring that any charges of election fraud or engineering is part of the “Big lie.” Hitler coined the term and uses it to impugn Jews in his 1925 autobiographical manifesto, Mein Kampf.

George Stephanopoulos, on ABC’s This Week, attempted to hector Rand Paul into declaring that the 2020 election was legitimate. “Senator Paul, let me begin with a threshold question for you, this election was not stolen, do you accept that fact?,” Stephanopoulos began. And he did not let up.

To his credit, Paul stood his ground throughout the interview. Despite Stephanopoulos’s repeated attempts to browbeat a confession from him, Paul did not accept his interrogator’s conclusion that the 2020 election was legitimate. Paul left the struggle session not only with his head attached, but held high, as well.

Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves was given similar treatment by Chuck Todd on MTP Daily, when Todd asked, “Do you believe the election was won fair and square by Joe Biden?” Like Paul, Reeves did not capitulate.

And for anyone who doesn’t doubt that the election was stolen, I would strongly encourage them to read The Navarro Report. It is a comprehensive, fact-based presentation of evidence that unifiers such as Romney, Stephanopoulos and Todd are likely yet to review. But we also know that they never will.

Let the Purge Begin

What’s the difference between today’s systematic purge of tweets, videos, platforms and websites and the the Reich’s suspension of free expression of opinion, including freedom of the press?

While not as visually dramatic, file deletion has the same effect as book burning, The Nazis encouraged the mass burning of works it deemed anathema to the State. Fires Throughout Germany engulfed literature, including books with liberal, democratic tendencies and attitudes, and writings supporting the Weimar Republic (Germany’s former, federal constitutional republic).

As they scrub Stop the Steal Tweets, pages and websites from the Internet, however, I’m sure our liberal friends will be quick to point out that a digital purge is so much more eco-friendly than a raging bonfire.

Even cinema is not safe from the leftist eraser. Just as the Twin Towers were digitally removed from some movies following the terror attacks of 9/11, there are calls to delete Trump’s cameo appearance from Home Alone 2. The leftists are so stricken with Trump Derangement Syndrome that they can scarcely be reminded that he even exists.

But there is a different motive here. History is not being expunged in an effort to spare fragile minds the memories of traumatic events or people. Rather, it is being deleted in an effort to deprive us of recalled knowledge. Specifically, as with the Twin Towers, we should not be reminded of an understanding that we were attacked by Muslim extremists and lost more than 3,000 lives on 9/11—the profound effects of which we still suffer today.

Furthermore, we should not be reminded that Trump was universally admired before he was elected President. In fact, before he became a Nazi, Trump was so beloved that he made cameo appearances in several blockbuster movies and he had a hit TV show. The left, however, would have you believe that the man was and always will be a monster, and anyone who supported or supports him is of the same ilk.

Even “The Tonight Show” Host Jimmy Fallon was excoriated for “humanizing” then-candidate Trump when Fallon treated his guest with civility. Following Fallon’s lighthearted interview with Trump, one woman Tweeted, “Fallon interviewing Hitler: ‘Let’s talk about your book!'”

Perception is reality, and the left desperately wants to shape and control our view of past, present and future. Statues are not being toppled and buildings are not being renamed because the individuals they honor were racist. Such accusations are simply pretext for erasing history. Because before a new history, a new reality, can be created, established history must first be destroyed.

History is a series of lessons. It is sculpted in steel, bound books, painted on canvas, recorded on film, chalked on caves. When history is willfully edited or destroyed, it exists only as a false narrative. It is bastardized and distorted by a teacher with not a lesson plan, but an agenda.

As the Nazis burned and outlawed their history, they used force to commandeer the press and push their narrative on the public. Sadly, unlike rule under the Reich, our mainstream media has been an enthusiastic and willing accomplice in propelling the leftist agenda. They have not surrendered, but have actually volunteered to facilitate the ruin of our nation. They are the fifth column.

Don’t believe me? Look no further than Operation Mockingbird for a sobering check on reality. After watching the video, ask yourself if mainstream media presents news or propaganda. Can you discern the difference?

It is mainstream media, big business, big tech, and individuals who have attacked Conservatives head-on. However, our elected officials have done little to address the very real threat of cancel culture to our society. Thus, they have become complicit in its growth and acceptance as a tactic of marginalization and suppression of not only Conservatives, but of Conservative values, as well.

Hitler is Hitler

There is an unwritten rule on the Internet that when a Hitler comparison is made, the discussion is finished, and whoever made the comparison loses whatever argument is being advanced.  This is known as Godwin’s law, and is named after attorney and author Mike Godwin. But that was in 1990.

A woke Goodwin declared in 2015, “If you’re thoughtful about it and show some real awareness of history, go ahead and refer to Hitler when you talk about Trump, or any other politician.”

To be clear, any reference to Trump, Biden, or anyone else as Hitler simply reveals the limited mental acuity of the referencer. Ignorant of history and void of empathy, these people truly lose under the predefined, pre-woke rules of Goodwin’s law.

I will not declare anyone to be Hitler here or anywhere. That would be a charge grounded in indefensible and uneducated rhetoric. It is a lazy claim. Rather, I compare and contrast historical fact with modern events in an effort to expose those determined to strip us of our liberties and freedoms.

The reimagined House Bill is meant to provoke thought and encourage action. While seemingly preposterous in scope, much of what is being proposed and acted on today at one point not too long ago appeared inconceivable (including the impeachment of a private citizen).

As written by Spanish-American philosopher, essayist, poet, and novelist George Santayana in 1905, “those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” The aim of this site is to reinforce Santayana’s warning and encourage Americans to take heed before it’s too late.

As a Conservative, I don’t expect to be hidden away in an attic by a sympathetic neighbor of a protected class anytime soon. The left have made Conservatives pariahs, but we’re not being overtly identified with markers on our clothing or being pulled from our homes and beaten in the streets. Yet.

Through cancel culture, however, Conservatives are being shamed, ridiculed and separated from society by mainstream media, business and individuals. As  Jennifer Rubin noted, “We have a list.”

Is your name on the list? If not, do you think it will remain that way? Do you think being a Democrat will ultimately spare your name from inclusion on the list?  What about your friends, family and associates?

We can turn to the words of Lutheran pastor Martin Niemöller for a possible answer.

Niemöller initially supported Hitler, but soon became a strong opponent of the Nazi party. From 1937-1945, Niemöller was imprisoned in two concentration camps and narrowly escaped execution.  Reflecting on his experience, Niemöller revealed the following:

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—Because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—Because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Will anyone be left to speak for you? How will your actions at this point in history be judged by God?
